PIKEVILLE, KY. – A Psychiatrist’s office in Pikeville, Kentucky, was being searched by the sheriff’s office earlier on Thursday, which led to an arrest.
The office being searched is that of Dr. Jason N. Stamper, a psychiatrist in Pikeville, Kentucky, and is affiliated with Pikeville Medical Center, according to reports.
Stamper, 51, was charged with trafficking heroin and is being held on no bond status.
A local reporter for Mountian Top Media, Nick Collum, reported on Facebook that he believes the DEA is involved, but The Free Press has not confirmed that.
Details of today’s search of his office located at 563 Hambley Blvd. in Pikeville were scarce; however, in 2019, Stamper faced scrutiny, accused of showing patient nude photos to a patient during a session.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported at the time that the mother of that patient, who is a disabled adult, filed a grievance to the state medical board back in May 2019.

In the filing, she claimed that Stamper “showed him pictures of young men he had had sex with or whom he wants to have sex.”
Stamper said at the time those claims were not true; however, according to the Herald Leader, Stamper did not deny showing nude photos to the patient.
According to the paper, Stamper was to be evaluated and assessed by the Acumen Institute in Kansas.
Stamper received his medical degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Psychiatrists diagnose and treat mental illnesses, such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. Most psychiatrists rely on a mix of medications and psychotherapy.
