RUSKIN, Fla. - On Saturday afternoon, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue worked a structure fire at 600 Sundrop Circle in Ruskin. HCFR's Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call at 4:18 Saturday afternoon from a first-party caller reporting smoke and flames coming from the residence.

RUSKIN, Fla. – On Saturday afternoon, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue worked a structure fire at 600 Sundrop Circle in Ruskin. HCFR’s Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call at 4:18 Saturday afternoon from a first-party caller reporting smoke and flames coming from the residence.

Engine 17 was first on the scene, confirming a working fire from the manufactured home. Crews quickly pulled a handline to attack the fire interiorly, effectively knocking the fire down.

Additional crews performed primary and secondary searches and supplied water to Engine 17.

“Three cats were pulled from the blaze, but one had succumbed to the conditions present in the house. All other occupants safely evacuated the structure,” said HCFR.

Crews extinguished the fire within 20 minutes. There were no injuries to civilians or first responders. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
