A suspect wanted in the stabbing death of a man last week, was caught late last night by authorities.
After days of tracking leads, detectives with Martin County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 30-year-old Jared Alexander Diaz in Jacksonville.
The arrest took place late Thursday night with the assistance of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, MCSO Warrants Unit, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s K-9 unit. according to MCSO.
Diaz was wanted for the stabbing death of Robert Tyler Meadows.
Meadows was stabbed inside a home in the gated community of the “Preserve” in Hobe Sound, according to MCSO.
Detectives say the two men got into an altercation, at which time, Diaz stabbed Meadows multiple times, then fled.

Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives immediately began tracking leads and setting up surveillance in areas where Diaz was reportedly hiding out.
“Last night, detectives located Diaz and took him into custody, but not before he jumped out of a window and tried to flee again, only to be apprehended by a highly skilled Jacksonville K-9,” said MCSO.
Diaz was charged with manslaughter and will be transported back to Martin County to face those charges.
“Thank you to everyone who helped us track and capture Diaz, especially to the K-9 that waited outside of that window in anticipation that Diaz would try to run again,” said MCSO.
