PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested a Seminole man for possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.
Detectives began their investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that child pornography was being uploaded via the internet.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 27-year-old Tyler Owenby.
On November 8, 2022, detectives arrested Owenby and charged him with one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Transmission of Child Pornography.
When detectives interviewed Owenby, he admitted to owning the internet account and to saving child pornography files in the past to his cell phone.
Owenby was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
