RIVERVIEW, Fla – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was working a structure fire in the Pleasant Living mobile home community in Riverview.
HCFR’s Emergency Dispatch Center received multiple calls around 3:25 am from neighbors regarding a home on Indian Drive that was fully engulfed in flames.
Engine 16 was the first unit on the scene, confirming a fully involved mobile home fire consuming the entire structure.
Firefighters deployed handlines to protect the two nearby houses from the extreme radiant heat.
Additional units provided water to Engine 16, assisted with extinguishing the blaze, and conducted multiple searches of the home.
There were no internal hydrants within the community, so a water tanker shuttle operation provided water to the fire engines.
“HCFR has 16 units on the scene and is currently putting out hot spots,” said HCFR.
Officials say there was one adult fatality, and one dog is unaccounted for in the morning fire.
HCFR’s Fire Investigations Unit is working on determining the cause. There were no injuries to first responders.
