Tom Brady And The Buccaneers Don’t Have Any Answers

TAMPA, Fla. – As has been the case in all of the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s losses this season, they haven’t been able to play well for all four quarters, faltering late and the same thing happened Thursday night.

The Bucs had a 10-3 halftime lead but couldn’t hold on in a Ravens 27-22 win. Bucs QB Tom Brady is immersed in a 3 game-losing streak for the first time as a Buc and his first in the NFL since 2002.

“We just didn’t play well enough to win, ” Brady said. ” I don’t think anyone feels good. We’ve lost 4 or 5, so we’re not where we want to be.”

The Ravens tied it up in the 3rd quarter on a 77-yard 15-play drive, finishing it with a Lamar Jackson TD pass to Kenyan Drake. Baltimore scored on their first four possessions after the half.

“It’s still dark,” Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said. “Until you win ball games consistently and play four quarters consistently, it’s going to be dark. it doesn’t mean we can’t get out of it. We have a lot of work to do as coaches and as players.”

The Bucs played with more urgency in the first half, especially on defense. Tampa Bay was able to contain Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, holding Baltimore to just a field goal.

Tom Brady led an 8-play 76-yard drive with a key slant pass to Chris Godwin for 44 yards. Leonard Founnette capped it off with a 1-yard touchdown run. The Bucs added a Ryan Succop field goal to take a 10-3 halftime lead.

Brady threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Julio Jones with 49 seconds left but it was too late. The Bucs have now lost  5 of their last 6 games after starting the season with two straight wins.

“We’ve got to go earn it and fight hard, ” Brady said. “You gotta go figure out how to win games.”

The Bucs will now have a couple of extra days in order to get ready to host the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Nov. 6.
