Parler Exposes ‘VIP’ User Emails Hours After Getting Bought By Kanye West

The politically right-leaning social media platform, Parler, is being sued by a Florida Attorney after the company allegedly sent unsolicited text messages, violating Florida law.

Hours after the conservative social media platform Parler announced plans to be acquired by Kanye West, known legally as Ye, the company sent an email to hundreds of so-called VIP users that revealed their contact information.

The contact information of hundreds of “VIPs” was left visible to recipients of the message, which was obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, along with assurances that the company’s mission and customer service efforts were not going to be changed.

The message appeared to reveal the contact information for notable conservative voices like Candace Owens, Andrew Wilkow, and journalist Andy Ngo, as well as for more than a dozen accounts affiliated with the House and the Senate.

“Our VIPs are an invaluable part of the Parler family and experience,” the company said to its users. “We appreciate all your support and partnership in the fight for free speech, and we look forward to your involvement in this monumental new chapter.”

The purchase was announced Monday, following a series of antisemitic remarks across various social media platforms that led to the famous rapper being suspended from Instagram and Twitter.

“This deal will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech,” said CEO George Farmer of Parlement Technologies, the parent company of Parler, in Monday’s announcement. “Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again.”
