Matt Gaetz Resign

Gaetz Taunts Kinzinger After Comments On Impeaching Biden

Left-wing Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger demonstrated again why no one on the right will miss him in Congress.

Kinzinger, of Illinois, one of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s two favorite GOP lawmakers, tried to take a shot at Rep. Matt Gaetz.

The impetus was Gaetz’s comment that if the GOP regains the majority in the House, the first move is to launch impeachment efforts of President Joe Biden.

“If we don’t engage in impeachment inquiries to get the documents and the testimony and the information we need, then I believe our voters will feel betrayed,” Gaetz said on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast.

“That likely could be the biggest win the Democrats could hope for in 2024.

The Fort Walton Beach Republican added that the House could move forward to go after Biden and his Cabinet members without the Senate, in an effort to hold the administration accountable.

“That’s why it should be investigations first — policy (and) bill-making to support the lobbyists and the PACs as a far, far diminished priority.”

Kinzinger, who claimed to have founded a group called “Country First” and yet puts the Ukrainian flag ahead of the American flag in his twitter handle, replied with a tweet: “Once again, I told ya. They will try to impeach Biden weekly. These are not serious people. They are entertainers and clowns. Gaetz and MTG [Rep. Marjorie Tayloe Greene] will be the real GOP leaders.”

Gaetz, in a reply to Kinzinger, who voted to impeach President Donald trump and is one of two Republicans picked by Pelosi to serve on the special House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, sarcastically expressed regret that Kinzinger would not be able to debate the removal of the left-wing president Kinzinger supports.

“Adam – we could have had this debate next congress (sic) but you were too afraid of your own voters to run,” Gaetz tweeted in reply.

“I think we all know how that would have gone. At least Liz was willing to swing through Wyoming for the drubbing. (You are right that WE are the real GOP, though!)”

Gaetz was referring to Kinzinger announcing last October that he would not seek re-election.

At the time, Kinzinger said he was tired of the partisan rancor in Congress and wanted to focus on “a broader fight nationwide.”

Yet Illinois Democrats essentially ended Kinzinger’s career after they redrew the state’s congressional districts following the 2020 census.

Liberals shoved Kinzinger and GOP Rep. Darin LaHood, a popular conservative, into the same district. Trump actually endorsed LaHood for re-election in June.
