Florida Governor Ron DeSantis To Brief Public On Hurricane Ian At 5:30 PM

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday said he is asking the federal government for a major disaster declaration in all 67 counties, as massive Hurricane Ian pounded the Gulf Coast and was poised to move across the state.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will hold a press conference in Tallahassee today at 5:30 PM.

Earlier on Wednesday, DeSantis said he is asking the federal government for a major disaster declaration in all 67 counties, as massive Hurricane Ian pounded the Gulf Coast and was poised to move across the state.

The state will seek 100 percent reimbursement from the federal government for storm-recovery costs over the next 60 days, DeSantis said during a briefing at the state Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee.
