The efforts by Republican Govs. Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, and Doug Ducey to force blue states to be accountable for their open-borders stance have earned them considerable wrath from the media and Democrats.

The leaders of Florida, Texas, and Arizona, respectively, have been characterized as kidnappers, human traffickers, Nazis, and inhumane for relocating illegal immigrants to communities that once proudly proclaimed themselves “sanctuary cities.”

But a new poll suggests that, as usual, liberals are out of touch with real America.

As CNSNews.com, a conservative website, reported on Friday, a “strong majority” of likely voters believe that blue-state sanctuary supporters whining that the governors stop these programs should have to take in illegals.

“Nearly two-thirds of likely voters say cities and states that call themselves ‘sanctuaries’ for illegal aliens should have to actually provide sanctuary to illegal aliens, sharing the burden with the border states through which illegal aliens are illegally entering the U.S., courtesy of the Biden Administration’s open-border policy,” CNSNews.com noted.

The poll of 1,600 likely voters was taken last week and recently published by National Review.

The pollster asked respondents: “Do you agree or disagree that sanctuary cities should have to share the burden of dealing with these illegals and not just the border states?”

Overall, 63 percent agreed, with 38 percent strongly agreeing.

On the other hand, 25 percent disagreed, including 14.5 percent who strongly objected.

Interestingly, along party lines, the majority backed the GOP governors.

Among Republicans, 78 percent support relocation efforts, as did 63 percent of independents.

Strikingly, and surprisingly, even 51 percent of Democrats responded that their side should live up to their rhetoric and actually provide sanctuary to illegals if they are sanctuary cities.
