A Florida woman is on the wrong side of the bars after attempting to take 50 grams of Fentanyl into a correctional facility.
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Corrections worked together to stop more than 50 grams of Fentanyl and approximately 100 Suboxone strips from entering the Cross City Correctional Institution.
According to investigators, the alert actions of DOC Officers and DCSO Deputies, the illegal drugs were kept out of the institution.

The suspect, Shannon Lee Scialdone, was arrested on the following charges:
- Trafficking Fentanyl,
- Introduce/remove/possess contraband into a prison,
- Introduce/remove/contraband into county detention facility,
- Tamper with/fabricate physical evidence (2 counts),
- Resist/obstruct/oppose officer without violence (2 counts),
- Possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl),
- Possession of a controlled substance (Suboxone),
- Possess/use/manufacture/deliver/advertise drug.
Shannon Lee Scialdone is currently being held at the Dixie County Jail with a 1.8 million dollar bond.
