RNC staff are being trained by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) certified RNC Strategic Initiatives, according to the RNC.

The first training course was held on Thursday, July 14, in Doral, Florida at the RNC Hispanic community center.

“The RCI is being utilized by the RNC to grow our party through education and engagement with future voters in Florida and throughout the country. RNC staff are trained by certified USCIS instructors to teach LPRs U.S. civics and history based on how questions could appear on the civics portion of the naturalization exam,” said RNC Spokeswoman Julia Friedland.

The 40 participants of the RNC’s first RCI were recognized for completing the course on Friday with a celebration as they work towards becoming naturalized.

According to the USCIS, over 9.2 million LPRs are eligible to naturalize as of January 2021. As the number of LPRs residing in Florida grows, our community centers are ready to assist LPRs through the Republican Civics Initiative.

“The Republican Civics Initiative is an extremely meaningful and impactful way for us to continue making inroads in Florida – both with current voters and those still working to achieve citizenship,” said Friedland. “Participants left the celebration feeling prepared and motivated to pass the exam so that they can vote in federal elections.”

The RNC is set to launch the program in Tampa this week. More details on the initiative will be released in the coming days.
