Conservative journalist Laura Loomer has been labeled an Islamophobe, even by her own admission, as well as a conspiracy theorist and a QAnon enthusiast.

Florida Republican Laura Loomer Continues Fundraising Distance Over Rep. Dan Webster

Many may have been surprised to learn in April that conservative activist Laura Loomer, one of the left’s favorites to try to smear, had surpassed a six-term Republican incumbent in the money chase for a Central Florida U.S House seat.

Loomer’s lead is growing.

The latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission revealed Loomer had raised a total of $665,021, Villages-News.com reported recently.

In comparison, Rep. Daniel Webster, a Clermont Republican and a longtime fixture in state politics before he was elected to Congress in 2010, has taken in $552,103.

The FEC reports show activity through June 30. The reports were published earlier this month.

Loomer’s current lead of about $113,000 has increased since the candidates’ first-quarter reports.

As The Free Press noted in April, Loomer had received about $83,000 more than Webster after the first three months of 2022.

Villages-News.com noted that Loomer is drawing from a larger pool of donors. Loomer reported contributions from 1,028 donors, compared to 282 for Webster.

The incumbent, who serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, is pulling more, and bigger contributions, from powerful political action committees in the construction industry.

While not as high-profile as other House Republicans from Florida, Webster is a devout Christian who votes almost exclusively for party priorities.

The Free Press reported in April that Webster boasts an “A” grade from the NRA, supported former President Donald Trump’s tax cuts, and was reprimanded by Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for “election subversion” because he endorsed Texas’ challenge to the 2020 election outcome in Pennsylvania.

He also has garnered a “0” rating from LGBT advocates at the Human Rights Campaign, and received a “D” from NORML, the group that advocates legalizing pot.

But the fundraising figures indicate Loomer’s efforts to paint Webster as too moderate for his Central Florida district, which includes The Villages, are paying dividends.

As Villages-News.com reported recently, she told a gathering in The Villages, “The momentum and energy is definitely in support of my congressional campaign against RINO incumbent Daniel Webster.”

“I do believe the constituents in District 11 are hungry for new leadership and they want fighters, they don’t want any more career politician RINOs, and I do believe that people will turn out and vote for me on Aug. 23rd and elect me to be their next congresswoman.”

Loomer, though just 28, is an outspoken conservative activist whose comments have gotten her booted from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, PayPal, Uber, Lyft, Clubhouse, and others.

Roger Stone, General Michael Flynn, and Congressman Gosar have endorsed Loomer in this race.
