Simons Road Phase II Improvement Project Underway In Zephyrhills

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – The notice-to-proceed date with construction firm BRW Contracting, Inc. began Monday, July 25, 2022, with a 240 consecutive calendar day completion timeline.

Simons Road Phase II will encompass a new 700-foot road section, box culverts, gravity walls, and sidewalks along with turn lanes being constructed on Fort King Road.

Upon completion, Simons Road will connect to both Eiland Boulevard and Fort King Road, offering motorists an additional route to State Road 54, State Road 56, and Interstate 275, respectively.

“This project will help to alleviate traffic on U.S. 301 and Fort King Road, and will help provide additional routes and safety measures for motorists,” says Zephyrhills City Manager Billy Poe.

Simons Road Phase II is funded through traffic impact fees. The cost of the project is not to exceed $2,216,680.20, this includes 15% contingency.

Simons Road Phase I, also constructed by BRW Contracting, was completed in February 2020, paving Simons Road from Eiland Boulevard to the northern boundary of The Links of Silver Oaks.
