Haines City Man Killed In High-Speed ATV Crash

A 22-year-old Haines City man has died after a high-speed ATV crash late Saturday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

HAINES CITY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Haines City man has died after a high-speed ATV crash late Saturday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say at around 11:11 pm, the man was riding the ATV northbound on North 15th Street, south of Johnson Avenue.

Investigators say while traveling at high speed, the rider attempted to brake abruptly for stopped traffic, lost control of the vehicle which overturned and came to a stop in the southbound lane.

The man was ejected from the ATV, suffered serious injuries at the scene of the crash, and later died at an area hospital.
