Democrats enthusiastically believed that being soft, or even nonexistent, on illegal immigration would make them popular with Hispanic voters.
Yet it appears most Hispanics in the U.S. appreciate law and order as much as other groups. And as consequence, the most woke president ever is in huge trouble with this particular demographic.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed President Joe Biden’s approval rating among Hispanics is just 19 percent, while a whopping 70 percent disapprove. Of that latter group, 49 percent “strongly” disapprove.
Only white men, also at 70 percent, disapprove of Biden as strongly as Hispanics do, the pollster reported.
As Cuban-born GOP Rep. Carlos Gimenez in Miami told National Review, “For far too long, Democrats have treated us as an interest group, just another voting bloc for them to use to win elections. To them, Hispanics are nothing but a Hispanic Heritage Month prop and a hashtag social media campaign. When the First Lady compares us to tacos, it really shows their true colors and how they see us.”
As Latino support shifts from left to right, the Republican National Committee is opening a Tampa Hispanic Community Center. So far, three of the committee’s five community centers in Florida are set up specifically to reach Hispanic communities.
The RNC maintains that Biden has been his own worst enemy in outreach efforts to Hispanics.
Besides being linked to his party’s fondness for using the widely rejected term Latinx, Biden has propped up the communist regime in Cuba, crossed the violent Colombian rebel group FARC off the list of foreign terrorist organizations, and begged Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro to turn on the oil spigot.
Biden also has not criticized the takeover of a popular Spanish-language conservative radio station, Radio Mambi in Miami, by elements linked to left-wing billionaire George Soros.
According to the RNC, the community centers in Florida are part of a multimillion-dollar commitment to connect with minority communities in several states across the country.
In choosing the latest venue, in the district represented by Biden-backing Democratic Rep. Kathy Castor, the RNC notes that Cuba is the most common country of origin for Hispanics living in Tampa, and that Hispanic population growth in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater region spiked by 44 percent since the 2010 census.
The new Tampa Community Center, like the others, will feature a full-time staffer to oversee local charity drives, financial workshops, roundtables, and seminars, in addition to other events.
“While Biden loyalists Castor and [Democratic Rep. Charlie] Crist continue to take Tampa voters for granted, Republicans are putting in the work with targeted outreach to voters fed up with Democrat failures,” RNC spokeswoman Julia Friedland told The Free Press.
