TAMPA, Fla. – Six people were rushed to the hospital after consuming fentanyl-laced drugs overnight in Tampa.
According to police, on Tuesday at 9:51 p.m., officers responded to 34th St N and Osborne Ave., Jackson Meat Market, in reference to several subjects that took some bad drugs.
When officers arrived, they found six people on the ground. All of them were having a difficult time breathing and several were unresponsive.
Narcan was deployed to several of the victims.
One victim told police that they all took a substance and had a bad reaction. The drugs were tested and discovered to contain Fentanyl mixed with Xylazine.
Tampa Fire Rescue transported the victims to nearby hospitals. During this call, officers were also dispatched to 3200 block of E 38th Ave, in reference to another non-breather.
When officers arrived, they were informed this victim came from the Jackson Meat Market area as well. This victim was also transported to a nearby hospital.
Once at the hospital, all the victims were conscious and breathing. During the investigation, the suspect, Albert Wyche, 42, was identified, located, and arrested.
He’s charged with one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
