BUFFALO, N.Y. – U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced today that Robert Notto, 26, of Buffalo, NY, who was convicted of distribution of child pornography, was sentenced to serve 108 months in prison by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Caitlin M. Higgins, who handled the case, stated that in March 2017, the defendant met the then-13-year-old minor victim through a teen social network.
The minor victim resided in Phoenix, Arizona, and told Notto her age. On July 28, 2017, the defendant, seeking to entice the minor victim to engage in sexual activity, sent the minor victim three images constituting child pornography from his computer. In addition, from March through July 2017, Notto repeatedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the minor victim.
On at least two occasions, the defendant requested that the child take a sexually explicit picture of herself.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly.
