Florida Man Claims $169 MILLION JACKPOT From August POWERBALL

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – William Kruger, of Lantana, claimed the $169 million jackpot from the POWERBALL® drawing held on August 12, 2020. Kruger chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $140,145,006.00.

Kruger purchased his jackpot-winning Quick Pick ticket from Publix, located at 4770 North Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the jackpot-winning POWERBALL ticket.

Florida is among the top-selling POWERBALL states in the country, exceeding more than $5.3 billion in sales, and yielding over $2.1 billion in education funding to date. Since POWERBALL launched in Florida in January 2009, the Florida Lottery has had more than 96.7 million winning tickets totaling more than $2.7 billion in prizes, including 14 jackpot winners. Florida was one of three states nationally to have a winner in the world record-setting $1.58 billion POWERBALL jackpot in January 2016.
