Florida Man Arrested For Threatening To Kill GOP Rep. Boebert

FBI agents recently arrested a Florida man for threatening to kill Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, news reports say.

Matthew Lee Comiskey of Palm Beach County was arrested following a federal grand jury indictment on five counts of transmitting an interstate threat to injure another person. Prosecutors say he did so via Twitter.

Seamus Hughes, deputy director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, broke the news on Friday. He posted court records of Comiskey’s indictment.

According to court records, the threats began on Aug. 31, when Comiskey tweeted, “If I ever saw Lauren I’d be glad to take her out and go to prison. Would be job well done.”

On Sept. 8, he tweeted, “Don’t worry Lauren, someone is coming soon to show your face the 2nd amendment (sic) in practice with a copper jacket. Enjoy.”

A week later, Comiskey added, “Someone needs to put lauren (sic) down like a sick dog. She is a true waste of life! Someone exercise their 2nd amendment (sic) right to her face! Since the @CIA is a failure and @FBI is incompetent at charging her for being a terrorist it’s time to do it ourselves. Pew pew Lauren.”

On Sept. 17, Comiskey was back at it, tweeting, “I got my 2 amendment (sic) tool all ready to destroy Lauren’s face! Hopefully n front of her kids.”

And again on that day, he added, “[D]on’t come to Florida. Us libs have big guns here and we stand out (sic) ground. Take you down like Trayvon.”

It’s unclear what Comiskey was responding to.

But Boebert, who is not shy about advocating her conservative views, including her own right to carry a gun, said Comiskey’s threats would not stop her.

“I’m thankful for the professional and effective work of the Capitol Police and the FBI. The hateful and dangerous lies by Fake News outlets like Business Insider and the HuffPost encourage these sick people to make such threats against me and my family. These threats will not deter me from my work to effectively represent the 3rd District of Colorado and secure the rights of the American people,” she told Newsmax in a statement.

Comiskey’s arrest coincides with a new poll, as The Free Press reported last week, that indicated 44 percent of Democratic men under age 50 believe it is acceptable to assassinate political opponents who they perceive as threats to the country. Overall, the poll found that two-thirds of Democrats see Republicans as such a threat to America.
