An accused drug dealer was arrested after the suspect led authorities on a chase along US 1 and Indian River Boulevard early Friday morning.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, later identified as Willie Robinson, fled in a vehicle when the Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop.
Stop sticks were deployed, but deputies say Robinson drove into the oncoming lane to avoid them.
Eventually, deputies were able to end the pursuit by hitting the vehicle with a controlled PIT maneuver in the 4900 block of US 1.
Deputies recovered 38 grams of MDPV, also known as molly, as well as a 5.56 pistol with a 50-round magazine, which was found between the driver and a passenger.
Robinson faces numerous charges including a felony warrant related to a failure to appear from a prior arrest earlier in the year. He faces new charges of fleeing and eluding, trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and driving with a suspended license.
His bond related to the previous charges was revoked and he is being held at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
Robinson’s passenger, identified as Jacobi King, faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
