After a two-day trial in Lee County, Bradley Jay Jackson, 58, was found guilty of lewd or lascivious molestation.
Once the court found Jackson was found to be a dangerous sexual felony offender, he was immediately sentenced to life in prison.
In April 2021, detectives began investigating a sex crime involving a child victim. Jackson, a previously convicted sex offender, was identified as the suspect.
Detectives worked alongside the State Attorney’s Office to prosecute the case, and presented evidence during sentencing to support an enhancement to designate Jackson as a Dangerous Sexual Felony Offender. Jackson was subsequently sentenced to life in prison.
“I am so proud of the Special Victims Unit detectives that worked this case, and our partners at the State Attorney’s Office who prosecuted it”, stated Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “This child molester will never see freedom again, and will spend the rest of his life behind bars where he belongs.”
