City Of Clearwater Launches Placemaking Grant Program

The city of Clearwater is working hard to improve Clearwater's bright and beautiful neighborhoods - one sidewalk at a time.

CLEARWATER, FL. – The city of Clearwater is calling all residents, nonprofits, community groups, artists, businesses, and property owners who want to transform Downtown Clearwater’s public spaces to apply for the new Placemaking and Resident Engagement Grant Program.

The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is offering grants of up to $25,000 for creative and eligible project submissions, including but not limited to:

  • Art installations, sculptures, displays or decorations.
  • Street, alley, parking lot, vacant lot, park, parklets or plaza improvements.
  • Cultural programming and performance arts.
  • Resident engagement programs or activities.

This program hopes to infuse Downtown Clearwater with innovative and thriving spaces, and to increase and diversify placemaking by engaging and funding stakeholders to take pride in their community.

“If you are interested in making Downtown Clearwater into an active, beautiful and creative place we encourage you to apply to our placemaking grant program.

We are excited to partner with you to bring great ideas to life,” said Community Redevelopment Agency Director Amanda Thompson.

Grant funding will be determined on a project-by-project basis and applicants are asked to demonstrate community support. All projects must be located within the Community Redevelopment Area boundary.
