A Florida woman who was employed as a daycare worker has been charged with the abuse of a 1-year-old child under her care.

On April 8, 2022, a report was received by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office about a case of possible child abuse.

The report stated a local worker at a daycare facility had been abusive to a 1-year-old child.

Evidence collected identified the teacher, Kristen Huntley, grabbing the child and forcefully placing him face-first on the ground.

As a result, the child’s face hit the ground causing a laceration to his lower lip, which required stitches to close.

Witnesses interviewed as a part of this investigation confirmed Huntley seemed frustrated when entering the classroom.

Witnesses also told investigators that the child was not injured prior to Huntley’s interaction.

Huntley, age 57, of Heritage Woods Lane, Panama City, was charged with Child Abuse, a felony, and taken to the Bay County Jail.
