Sun City Center Man Killed In St. Pete Crash After Going Airborne Into Brick Wall

ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 36-year-old Sun City Center man was killed in a crash that happened in St. Petersburg Monday night.

Troopers say, just after 12 am., the man was traveling eastbound on I-175 in the inside lane near Milepost 1 when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

Investigators say the man lost control of the vehicle which rotated through the exit to 5th Avenue South and became airborne after striking a raised curb before colliding with a brick wall located at 515 4th Street South, then finally overturning.

Troopers say the man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
