Bidding On Antonio Brown’s Glove Has Topped $3K; Another Seven-Figure Sale For A Brady Card

TAMPA, FL. – Everything has a price, doesn’t it?

That includes something from a forgettable, yet unforgettable, moment from the Buccaneers’ 2021 season.

One of the gloves Antonio Brown threw into the stands at MetLife Stadium while throwing fit and stripping before exiting the field down during a January 2 against the Jets, went up for auction January 30. As of Thursday morning, bidding had reached $3,350.

The auction opened with a minimum of $81, matching the number on Brown’s jersey, which the receiver also launched into the stands. New Jersey-based Lelands is hosting the auction.

The glove is from Brown’s right hand and the item description reads in part: “The glove is white, with a black Nike Sploosh on the back. Inside, at the wrist, the glove also has an NFL logo and an “Apollo Nia” tag. The outside of the glove has a Raiders’ logo, from when Brown played for the Raiders, that has been blackened out. On the outside back of the wristband is imprinted “Superbad.”

The auction closes Saturday at 10 p.m. EST.

Speaking of the Buccaneers and auctions, Tom Brady’s key rookie card continues to fetch seven figures. On February 1, the 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket autographed card numbered to 100 sold on eBay for $2.3 million. The card, graded by Beckett Grading Services, has a grade of 8.5 NM-MT+ for the card and 10 Gem Mint for the autograph.

The sale came eight months after a Lelands auction realized $3.1 million for the card, which was graded by BGS and with grades of 9 Mint and 10 Gem Mint.
