The cable network Bravo announced Tuesday that it fired one of its’ “Real Housewives” because she was a little too real for the channel’s liking.
Jennie Nguyen, a star of the show “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” was dumped because she dared to criticize Black Lives Matter rioters.
At issue were some memes and social media posts Nguyen circulated in 2020.
In one case, according to Breitbart News, a meme announced, “If you follow the officer’s orders, you won’t get shot.”
Another post she shared said: “I’m sick of people saying cops need more training. You had 18 years to teach your kids it’s wrong to loot, steal, set buildings ablaze, block traffic, laser people’s eyes, overturn cars, destroy buildings and attack citizens. Who failed who?”
“Hundreds of blacks shot and many killed (including children) by other blacks every week. Over a thousand Officers violently injured, some permanently, by rioters,” read a third meme she reportedly shared. “Anarchists rioting in major cities every night, which has caused billions of dollars of destruction to private and public property. And you still think Police Officers are the problem. You are an idiot.”
In a statement posted on Instagram, Bravo explained why it fired the 44-year-old Nguyen, who according to Breitbart is a Vietnamese immigrant who fled communism.
“Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie Nguyen and she will no longer be a cast member of ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,’” Bravo’s statement said. “We recognize we failed to take appropriate action once her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention.”
“Moving forward,” the network added, “we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”
As Breitbart noted, “Bavo appeared to be reacting to woke mob pressure.”
The New York Post’s Page Six explained that alleged fans of the show demanded she be ousted after it found those posts and others in which she called the rioting thugs “BLM Thugs” and “Violent Gangs.”
Yet Bravo has apparently not addressed another of the show’s cast who said Nguyen has “nice slanted eyes.”
Nguyen’s firing is just more proof Hollywood’s talk of supporting “diversity” is just that – a lot of hot air.
