SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 95-year-old man from The Villages died Monday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Buena Vista Boulevard in Sumter County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:17 AM just north of Bonita Boulevard. The driver, operating a Buick sedan northbound on Buena Vista Boulevard, failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

The vehicle departed the roadway, first striking a fence before colliding with a tree. The driver was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
