88-Year-Old St. Pete Man Killed Attempting To Cross Mirror Lake Drive

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Shortly after 8:15 a.m. Monday, March 20, a pedestrian identified as 88-year-old Seymour Lewis of St. Petersburg was crossing Mirror Lake Drive North at 5th Street North when he entered the path of a white Mazda 3.

When Lewis stepped off the curb in a crosswalk to cross south to north on Mirror Lake Drive North, the driver of the Mazda, who had the green light, could not stop in time and struck him.

Lewis was transported to a local hospital, where he died shortly later.

The Mazda driver, who was uninjured, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
