A Mississippi woman has been charged with murder in the 2018 death of her husband, according to officials.

75-year-old Harriet Mooney Howe is currently incarcerated in the Forrest County Adult Detention Center on a one million dollar bond after being formally charged by Forrest County investigators with first-degree murder.

According to authorities, Howe is accused of killing her husband, George Howe, in April of 2018, at their home in the Dixie community.

“Forrest County Sheriff’s Office investigators never closed the investigation into George Howe’s death, and their resolve to find answers, even after five years, never wavered,” said the sheriff’s office.

With advancements in digital forensics and the continued efforts of FCSO investigators, key evidence was finally uncovered that led to the arrest of Harriet Howe for the murder of her husband.
