74-Year-Old Woman Killed In Winter Haven Crash Friday

WINTER HAVEN, FL. – A 74-year-old Port St. Lucie woman was killed in a crash that happened Friday afternoon in Winter Haven, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the woman traveling eastbound on SR-544, approaching Old Lucerne Road. Vehicle-2 was traveling westbound when she lost control of her car.

Investigators say she crossed the center of the roadway and collided nearly head-on with a pickup truck.

Her car then rotated and collided with the left front of another car, according to FHP.

Troopers say the woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

Her passenger, an 86-year-old Winter Haven man and the driver of the second car, a 66-year-old Haines City man, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
