ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Pinellas County Sheriff’s Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) have arrested a St. Petersburg man for possession of child pornography.
Detectives began their investigation after receiving information that child pornography was accessed and stored on a laptop that was returned to a pawn shop two days after being purchased.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as 74-year-old Alexander Jerold Stokes.

According to detectives, the images were of children between the ages of five and thirteen years old.
On October 18, 2023, detectives arrested Stokes and charged him with sixteen counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Stokes was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and deputies say the investigation continues.
