BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A 72-year-old Brooksville woman was killed after being hit by a pickup truck while she was crossing East Jefferson Street around 8:25 pom on Thursday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling northbound on East Jefferson Street and collided with the woman who was walking eastbound across the intersection of Asmara Street.
Troopers say the woman was transported to an area hospital but died from injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 73-year-old Homosassa man, was uninjured in the crash.
