Following the seismic event, NOAA issued a tsunami threat for Haiti, Belize, and the Bahamas, while Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands were placed under a tsunami advisory. These advisories indicate the potential for dangerous waves and strong currents near coastlines.

As of Saturday evening, there were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage in any of the affected areas. Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and monitor for potential aftershocks and tsunami activity.
