63-Year-Old Palm Harbor Woman Dies After Being Struck By Car On Her Bike

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL. – A 63-year-old Palm Harbor woman has died from injuries in a crash that took place on Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, on Thursday, July 8th at 4:40 PM, the Palm Harbor woman was riding a bicycle eastbound across Alt-19 near Delaware Avenue in a signalized crosswalk, that was not activated.

Troopers say the bike entered the path of a car that was traveling southbound on Alt-19.

Despite evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision, the passenger-side mirror of the vehicle struck the bicyclist who overturned onto the roadway, according to Troopers.

The woman was airlifted to an area hospital but died on Saturday from injuries suffered during the crash.
