ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 62-year-old Gulfport man was killed overnight, running across I-275.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV and pickup truck were traveling southbound on I-275 in the inside lane approaching 22nd Avenue North when a man ran eastbound across the interstate and entered the path of the two vehicles.
Troopers say that both vehicles struck the man and both stopped on the shoulder after colliding into the pedestrian.
Investigators say the man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
