ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 58-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash that happened early on Monday morning.
According to police, a pedestrian, Hollis Heatherley, W/M, 58 years old, was crossing the roadway, in the crosswalk.
An unknown black vehicle, traveling westbound on 1st Avenue North, struck the pedestrian, throwing the pedestrian to the ground.
Police say the driver then left the scene of the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to police, there is damage, but the vehicle has not been located.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. The roadway was closed during the investigation and was re-opened. Anyone who has any information, please contact the traffic section and reference this crash.
