CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 54-year-old Dunnellon man was killed Sunday night in a crash that happened around 9:40 PM.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was traveling northbound on Independence Parkway near the intersection of Florida Avenue, while an SUV was traveling southbound on Independence Parkway.
Troopers say as the man entered a curve in the roadway, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, overturned, slid into the southbound lanes, and collided with SUV.
The 54-year-old man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The drive rof the SUV, a 32-year-old woman from Inverness susteained no injuries.
