CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – An Inverness man was killed riding a bicycle on Tuesday night around 6:25 PM, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the 51-year-old man was riding southbound on US-41, just north of Fort Cooper Road, in the outside lane, and had stopped in the roadway with dark clothes and no lights on his bike. A pickup truck heading southbound on US-41 collided with the man on the unlighted highway.
The man was transported to a local hospital, but died from injuries sustained in the crash.
