The Florida Lottery announced a wave of luck last week, as five players claimed $1 million prizes from various Scratch-Off games, totaling $5 million in combined winnings.

Each winner opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment. Here’s a breakdown of the lucky winners and their prizes:

Tuesday: Walter Sheard of Ponte Vedra Beach

Walter Sheard kicked off the winning streak by claiming a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose a lump-sum payment of $640,000.

Sheard purchased the winning ticket at Publix, located at 670 Marsh Landing Parkway in Jacksonville Beach. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket.

Wednesday: Krista Hyde of Clearwater

Krista Hyde, 37, claimed a $1 million prize from the $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She opted for a lump-sum payment of $652,665.60.

Hyde bought her ticket at Circle K, located at 2173 North Hercules Avenue in Clearwater. The store received a $2,000 bonus commission for the sale.

Thursday: Derinda Main of Brandon

On Thursday, Derinda Main, 67, claimed her $1 million prize from the $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Tampa District Office. She chose a lump-sum payment of $652,665.60.

Main’s winning ticket was purchased at Discount Cigarette & Grocery, located at 1424 South Kingsway Road in Seffner. The retailer also earned a $2,000 bonus commission.

Friday: Two Winners Close the Week

Dorothy Rendell of Green Cove Springs: Rendell, 58, claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose a lump-sum payment of $640,000. Rendell bought her ticket at Green Cove Food Store, located at 201 North Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs. The store received a $2,000 bonus commission.

Debra Maffett of Dade City: Maffett also won $1 million from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game at the Tampa District Office. She took a lump-sum payment of $640,000. Her winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 11830 U.S. Highway 301 in Dade City. Publix earned a $2,000 bonus commission.

Scratch-off games remain a significant part of the Florida Lottery’s portfolio, making up 74% of ticket sales in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Since their inception, these games have awarded more than $64.3 billion in prizes, created over 2,230 millionaires, and contributed more than $19.50 billion to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
