TAMPA, Fla- Independence Day 2020 appeared to be complete chaos on Dale Mabry Hwy and Palmetto Streets Saturday. Protesters and Police clash as the protest spilled into the street.
There were reports that 9 people were arrested at the Dale Mabry protests yesterday, however, in the public record and Hillsborough County Jail files, we have located 7 of the protesters arrested yesterday, and all have been released from jail as of this morning.
Protesters gathered last night at 9 PM, in front of Tampa Police headquarters, downtown to protest the arrests made earlier in the day.
The protesters arrested yesterday and charges against each are:
Bates, 31, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
- Battery On a Law Enforcement Officer Class 3 Felony
Mohamed Osman, 22, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
Wilson, 21, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
- Criminal Mischief $1,000 or More a Class 3 Felony
- Resisting Officer without Violence a Class 1 Misdemeanor
Gibbs, 26, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
- Resisting Officer With Violence a Class 3 Felony
Bullock, 21, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
- Battery On A Law Enforcement Officer Class 3 Felony
- Resisting Officer without Violence a Class 1 Misdemeanor
Wright, 24, was charged with:
- Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer Class 3 Felony
- Resisting Officer without Violence a Class 1 Misdemeanor
Uche, 22, was charged with:
- Assemblies Obstructing Streets or Sidewalks a Class 2 Misdemeanor
- Battery On A Law Enforcement Officer Class 3 Felony
- Resisting Officer without Violence a Class 1 Misdemeanor
- Carrying Concealed Firearm Class 3 Felony
