PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A 45-year-old man is dead after firing a gun at a woman and then turning the weapon on himself.
Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Hudson Ridge apartments on State Road 52 just before noon on Thursday to serve an attempted homicide warrant on Francisco Rivera, 45, at an apartment at this location.
Deputies say the suspect had fired multiple shots at a woman, although the woman was not injured.
Investigators say that Rivera was inside an apartment and refused to speak with deputies.
After several hours of attempting to contact Rivera with no response, deputies made entry to the apartment and found the man dead inside the apartment by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No deputies, the female victim of the earlier crime, or other residents in the apartment complex were injured as a result of this incident.
Several residents were evacuated out of an abundance of caution and services were provided to them by Red Cross.
