CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 45-year-old Inverness woman was killed Thursday evening, by a hit and run driver on South Cascade Ave. FHP says the crash happened around 7:20 PM.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was parked in the driveway of 6001 South Cascade Avenue, partially in the roadway was outside of the vehicle.
Investigators say the woman was attempting to deliver pizzas to the home. An unidentified vehicle traveling northbound on Cascade Avenue
collided with the open passenger-side of the car, striking the woman.
Following the crash,Troopers say the unidentified vehicle fled the scene.
The woman was airlifted to Ocala Regional Hospital, but died from injuries sustained in the crash.
