44 Arrested During Hillsborough County Sheriff’s ‘Operation Get Stuffed’

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – From Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, to Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office carried out “Operation Stuffed,” a multi-agency campaign to combat driving under the influence.

“Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate with family and loved ones. Concerns about road safety should not detract from the festivities. This is why the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has dedicated a specialized DUI unit to combat the issue of impaired driving,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

Deputies from the HCSO worked in conjunction with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Tampa Police Department to make sure that drivers throughout our county had a safe holiday weekend.

Deputies targeted drivers who were impaired by drugs or alcohol while they patrolled the roads.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Operation Stuffed Results:

  • Traffic Stops- 279
  • Citations- 23
  • Warnings- 256
  • DUI Arrests- 44
  • DUI Hospital Cases- 3

Many of them selflessly sacrificed time with their families to help ensure the safety of our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Although this holiday weekend has ended, the holiday season is just beginning.
