40-Year-Old Wesley Chapel Woman Sustains Serious Injuries After Crash Causes Car Fire

PASCO COUNTY, FL. – A Wesley Chapel woman sustained serious after a crash that happened on SR-56 on Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling eastbound on SR-56 in the left turn lane approaching Meadow Pointe Boulevard.

A dump truck was traveling westbound on SR-56 in the outside lane approaching Meadow Pointe Boulevard. At the intersection, under a flashing yellow left-turn arrow, the woman turned left into the path of the unloaded dump truck.

Investigators say the front of the Wesley Chapel woman’s SUV struck the left side of the truck and rotated to a stop in the westbound inside lane of SR-56 and caught fire.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and no update on her condition has been released.
