Police lights crash accident St. Petersburg

PINELLAS PARK, FL. – The Pinellas Park Police Department responded to 49th St and 126th Ave for a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Once on scene, officers and paramedics discovered the male motorcycle rider, Maxwell Jenkins, 38, was deceased as a result of the collision.  The driver and occupants of the SUV sustained minor injuries.

Investigators say that Maxwell Jenkins was traveling south on 49th St approaching the intersection of 126th Ave.  At the same time, an SUV operated by Maria Hernandez, 44, was making a westbound turn onto 126th Ave from 49th St.

The vehicles collided in the intersection and Maxwell Jenkins was thrown from the motorcycle.  Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
