35-Year-Old Tampa Man Dies After Thanksgiving Morning Crash

TAMPA, FL. – A 35-year-old Tampa man has died after a crash that happened around 6:30 am on Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was driving a Toyota Tacoma eastbound on the upper deck of the Selmon Expressway, just east of 50th Street.

The man failed to maintain control of the vehicle, entered the left shoulder, and collided with the concrete barrier before coming to a stop. 

Responding FHP Troopers and Tampa Police Officers located the man unresponsive and immediately began several rounds of CPR, administered Narcan, and utilized an AED before arriving EMS personnel took over the medical efforts to save the man. 

Emergency crews were able to resuscitate the man and transported him to an area hospital in serious condition. 

Troopers say that sadly, the 35-year-old man died this afternoon from injuries following the crash.
