34-Year-Old Lakeland Woman Swerves, Striking And Killing 4 Men Changing A Tire On Florida I-75

Four men were killed while changing a tire on I-75 South overnight, when a car veered onto the roadway’s shoulder, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say that seven people were traveling southbound in a pickup truck, towing a trailer when they blew a tire in Sarasota just before 10 p.m.

The car, driven by a 34-year-old Lakeland woman, swerved to the shoulder, striking four men and hitting the stopped truck.

The three other people outside of the pickup truck were uninjured, according to FHP.

The Lakeland woman and her passenger sustained no injuries in the crash.

Troopers say Southbound traffic on I-75 was shut down for several hours from milepost 210 to exit 207. Officials said the roads were cleared early Friday morning.

It’s not yet clear if the Lakeland woman will face any charges.
