In a chilling case, three men were sentenced for their roles in a racially-motivated plot to attack the U.S. power grid. Paul Kryscuk, 38, of Boise, Idaho, received six and a half years for conspiracy, while Liam Collins, 25, of Johnston, Rhode Island, was sentenced to 10 years for aiding in the transport of illegal firearms. Justin Hermanson, 25, of Swansboro, North Carolina, was sentenced to 21 months for conspiracy to manufacture and ship firearms.

“As part a self-described ‘modern day SS,’ these defendants conspired, prepared, and trained to attack America’s power grid in order to advance their violent white supremacist ideology,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “These sentences reflect both the depravity of their plot and the Justice Department’s commitment to holding accountable those who seek to use violence to undermine our democracy.”
Court evidence revealed that the group studied a prior attack on the power grid, meticulously replicating the tactics used.
Over several years, Kryscuk manufactured firearms, Collins procured military gear, and co-defendant Jordan Duncan amassed a trove of information on weapons and explosives. A handwritten list of potential targets, including power grid infrastructure, was found in Kryscuk’s possession.
Further investigation uncovered the group’s connection to the “Iron March” forum, a known breeding ground for neo-Nazi recruitment. Through this platform, the men expanded their network, recruiting more members and engaging in live-fire training exercises.

Disturbing propaganda videos surfaced, depicting the men wielding assault rifles and giving Nazi salutes.
The case, a collaborative effort by multiple federal agencies, underscores the critical importance of vigilance and swift action in combating extremist threats. The sentences handed down serve as a stern warning to those who seek to sow chaos and terror in the name of hate.
