3 Jacksonville Men Indicted On Federal Charges Related To I-95 Drive-By Shooting, Drug Trafficking

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three men from Jacksonville, Florida, are facing federal charges related to a drive-by shooting and a large-scale drug trafficking operation.

Nathaniel Thomas Hatcher, III, James Toney, and Al’Donta Easterling have been indicted on multiple federal charges.

The charges stem from an alleged shooting on I-95 in St. Johns, Florida, on October 17, 2023. Hatcher is also accused of marijuana distribution, firearms offenses, money laundering, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

If convicted on all counts, Hatcher faces a potential sentence of two life terms plus 115 years. Toney and Easterling could face life imprisonment plus 45 and 60 years, respectively. All three have been arrested and are currently detained pending trial, scheduled for November 4, 2024.

This case is part of a larger investigation that has resulted in the arrests of five individuals, including two who have already pleaded guilty to related charges.

The investigation is being conducted by multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
